The Africa Colloquium of Legal Counsel to Parliaments

Preparations for the 8th Africa Colloquium of Legal Counsel to Parliaments have gained momentum following a successful reconnaissance visit to Accra, Ghana, from 18th to 20th August 2026.

The visit brought together members of the Colloquium Council and Secretariat and the Parliament of Ghana’s Local Organising Committee to assess readiness for the conference scheduled for 12th–16th October 2026. The delegation reviewed conference logistics and inspected the main venue, recommended hotels and proposed excursion sites.

The Accra City Hotel was confirmed as the main conference venue and found suitable for the expected approximately 200 delegates, with accessibility provisions for persons with reduced mobility.

The team also reviewed registration, accommodation, transport, security, medical support, ICT, media coverage and interpretation arrangements. Online registration is already active, while airport transfers and daily shuttles are planned for delegates staying in designated hotels.

Significantly, simultaneous English-to-Arabic virtual interpretation was successfully tested during the visit as the Secretariat continues to evaluate cost-effective interpretation solutions for the conference.

The delegation further recommended the Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park as the preferred excursion destination, citing its historical significance and accessibility.

The Colloquium will be held under the theme β€œEthics, Integrity and Legal Accountability.” Delegates are encouraged to register early through the official portal atΒ https://colloquium2026.parliament.gh.
